The Irga-RU ultrasonic flow meter (hereinafter referred to as flow meters) is designed for measuring the volume and volumetric flow rate of gases (natural gas, air, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, associated petroleum gas, coke oven gas, etc.).
The flow meter complete with the Irga-2 computer (or another similar computer) is intended both for stand-alone use and for use as part of meters, metering units and measuring complexes.
It is possible to supply flow meters in a special version for a specific gas composition indicated by the customer in the questionnaire. If the gas composition is not specified by the customer, flow meters are produced for natural gas in accordance with GOST 5542.
The composition of the flowmeter
Structurally the flowmeter consists of three blocks:
-
"Irga RUP primary flow converter ", which is a mechanical device;
-
“VR 100 RU” electronic block;
-
"Irga BP" power supply unit with built-in spark protection barrier (if necessary). In non-explosive areas of premises and outdoor installations, the flowmeter is powered by a DC power supply with voltage of (5±0.5) V and 20 mA current (the DC power supply is not included in the flowmeter kit).
-
v is the flow rate in the pipeline,
-
L is the distance between the transceivers,
-
α is the angle between the axis of installation of the sensors and the axis of the pipeline,
-
t1 and t2 are the travel times of ultrasonic pulses upflow and downflow.
The VR-100 RU electronic unit controls ultrasonic transceivers, receives, processes, converts and transmits signals to the computing device, including, among other things, information about the travel time of ultrasonic pulses, which is necessary for calculating the volumetric gas flow rate under operating conditions (GOST 8.611 - 2013):
v = (L•(t2 - t1)) / (2•t1•t2•cosα),
where
The Irga-2 computers (electronic correctors) of GLOBUS LLC or any other similar devices can be used as a computer (for example, Logika and Teplokom gas correctors).
