      Description

      The Irga-RS jet flow meter is designed to measure the volume and volumetric flow rate of gases, liquids, including aggressive and cryogenic media.

      The flow meter complete with the Irga-2 computer (or another similar computer) is intended both for stand-alone use and for use as part of meters, metering units and measuring complexes.

      The jet flow meter is suited for measuring low oxygen and hydrogen consumption.

      For liquids:

      • 0.0010 до 3.000 m3/h

      * The specific values of the lower and upper limits of flow measurements for each DN depend on the Reynolds number (Re) and are selected taking into account the temperature range, pressure, flow, density and viscosity of the measured medium

      Principle of operation

      The operation of the flow meter is based on the principle of measuring the flow rate and the amount of liquids and gases by the method of variable differential pressure.

      The Irga-RU ultrasonic flow meter converts the volumetric flow rate of the measured medium into frequency, impulse-number or current (a specific type of output signal is indicated when ordering).

      The scope of delivery of the Irga-RS jet meter may also include:

      • spark protection energy barrier

      • platinum resistance thermometer
        according to GOST 6651 with accuracy class A or B

      • pressure sensor *

      • measuring pressure transformer

      • Irga-BP ** power supply unit with a built-in spark protection barrier
        (if explosion protection is necessary)

      Note

      * The pressure sensor for hazardous areas must be marked with 0ExiaIICT5 X explosion protection and comply with GOST 30852.0-2002 (IEC 60079-0:1998).
      If the measured medium is oxygen, the pressure sensor must have an oxygen version.
      ** In non-hazardous indoor and outdoor areas, the flow meter is supplied with a DC source, voltage 5-12 V (20 mA) (DC source is not included).

      Versions

      The flow meter has the following versions according to the gage section material:

      • 01 - 09G2S steel according to GOST 19281, Art. 20 GOST 1050

      • 02 - 12X18H10T stainless steel according to GOST 5632

      • 03 - production material at the Customer's request



      The flow meter has the following versions for the power supply:

      • for explosive areas:

        • S1 - Irga-BP, AC powered with a frequency of (50±1) Hz and a voltage of 187 to 242 V with a built-in liquid crystal display (LCD) to show the current volumetric flow rate of the measured medium under operating conditions, m3/h

        • S2 - Irga-BP, AC powered with a frequency of (50±1) Hz and a voltage of 187 to 242 V without a built-in LCD

        • S3 - Irga-BP, DC powered with a supply voltage (24±1) V with a built-in LCD to display the current volumetric flow rate of the measured medium under operating conditions, m3/h

        • S4 - Irga-BP, DC powered with a supply voltage (24±1) V without built-in LCD

        • S5 - Irga-BP, powered by a 3.6 V lithium battery with a built-in LCD to display the current volumetric flow rate of the measured medium under operating conditions, m3/h

        • S6 - Irga-BP, powered by a 3.6 V lithium battery without built-in LCD

      • for non-explosive areas:

        • S7 - flow meter, DC powered with a supply voltage of 5-12 V (20 mA)



      The flow meter versions depending on the medium pressure:

      • up to 1.6 MPa

      • up to 2.5 MPa

      • up to 4.0 MPa

      • up to 6.3 MPa

      • up to 10.0 MPa

      • up to 16.0 MPa

      • up to 20.0 MPa

      • up to 32.0 MPa

      • up to 40.0 MPa



      The jet flow meter has the following main versions according to the type of output signal:

      • F1100 - frequency, 100 to 1,100 Hz

      • F1000 - frequency, 0 to 1,000 Hz

      • F0 - impulse-number

      • I20 - unified current 4 to 20 mA

      • I5 - unified current 0 to 5 mA

      • HL - digital,
        (output of measured parameters to an external
        digital controller or computer)

      • HART - HART output


      The jet flow meter transfers the following information to an external device (subject to configuration):

      • instantaneous volumetric flow rate of the measured medium under operating conditions, m3/h

      • medium temperature, °С

      • medium pressure, Pa

      Advantages
      • The jet method allows measuring small flow rates in pipelines with an internal diameter of 10 mm or more.

      • The Irga-RS jet flow meter can be manufactured practically for an arbitrarily small flow rate:

      • the limits of measuring the flow of jet flow meters are determined by the calculation of the flow restrictor, which is part of the flow meter

      • The lower limit for flow measuring is:

      • gaseous media - 30 l/h

      • liquid media - 1 l/h


      • The TRSG-IRGA gas meter with the Irga-RS jet flow meter is ideally suited for measuring oxygen and hydrogen consumption in pipelines of small diameters (DN ≤ 50 mm).
